25.10.13

This 30 seconds commercial for Nikon is so simplistic and calming (i swear I felt a breeze but only to realize it was from my heater a second later). Beautifully shot and edited, Nikon is advertising a new camera that will soon arrive, and the enigmatic sound of the shutter sends nostalgia to many camera fanatics. Apparently this is a hint at the old school design of the new DSLR. interesting, I seriously got chills. weird. I'm a weirdo.

----- Aesop Tiquetonne by Cigue -----

I'm loving this store display. The shelving are made from stacks of iron nails to give the illusion of floating bottles. Sitting on a back drop of wooden panels, the store display reflects harmoniously with the packaging design of Aesop, a skin and haircare brand; this shop is located in Paris designed by French designers Cigu.

----- Tasty Camera Gadgets -----

I accidentally wondered on to this website Photojojo gradually realizing during my peruse that I've been there before—there are so many great items! The store also corroborates the reasons I should step into the future with the iPhone and not the Galaxy. Like look at these gadgets for iPhone:

A shutter remote operated by your iPhone.

Lens Mount for an iPhone—WTF!

Sure, as much as you and I want to doubt it honest functionality, these products do sound sick to believe. What if they do work wonderfully and without a glitch? I shall hold my breath till I die.

Practical and useful items I would like to buy:

A lens cap holder on your camera strap. I don't know how many times I have come close to lose mine and how disgusting it gets when I dump it into my back pocket of my jeans, I spare you the "sweaty" details.

Camera strap with tiny pocket to hold battery or film

Silly things I want to buy:

AHHH! Why didn't I think of this idea?! Photoshop window magnets. BRILLIANT. Genius. So fun.

DSLR USB keys....

The Camera Folder bag for your camera, silly-poo.

Zumi Digital: I actually own one but in film format which the film is obsolete. so i'm left with a plastic object, eating dust in my room. Damn you digital technology, film lovers rejoice!

This pretty much wraps up this post. What does it say about me when I want more silly items?

----- iPad to Macbook Pro -----

This is a gadget by the Japanese (who else) where you can place your iPad onto this gimmick to turn it into a "macbook pro". It's cute & all, but seriously?  It's like taking off the Toyota sign off my family car and replacing it with a Mercedes-Benz one; it's cool & stuff but b*tch please, get a real one. (sarcasm sarcasm) Beats the purpose of an iPad's sole function: touch screen. In a world where we should be redesigning and rethinking our methods, this just adds to the multitude of useless gadgets.

----- The Gas Lamp by Felix Guyon @ Lafirme.ca -----

Last time I saw this at at local design event but I forgot to take down the name and business cards but luckily MocoLoco featured it this morning. I think it's very clever and i love the giant match stick switch.

----- A Healthy Idea -----

If i was a product designer, I would so execute something like this because I thought it out once. Heck, I think I can do this if I was just a graphic designer, this why i love this field; everything is interchangeable as long you have The Big Idea.

In part, this is very much a communication design case; thinking a visual method to guide people to feed themselves the proper quantity of their daily nutritional servings.

----- Today's (more like days ago) Find -----

the iconic watch that you see on your desktop when it asks you to wait?

I have a great fondness for yellow manilla envelops with that red little string attached to button thing (I'm awesome at explaining things!). This one is LEATHER and a laptop sleeve! I see a clutch too!

Talk about random spotting. I found this keyboard digital clock on a C-Pop video of Fiona Sit, don't ask me why I was watching the video—it's got beats not quite typical Hong Kong pop music. Look at the clock, I WANT.

Business cards i couldn't think of. the storage is so convenient.

----- Nikon 1 -----

well hello good-looking, wanna hook up? when I have enough money to blow, i'd love this to be my casual point-and-shoot to take out on a casual outing instead of my fat Canon.

----- Shot Glasses, Get it? -----

Fooled the eyes? These may look like photo lenses but they're shot glasses or small container to hold miscellaneous items such as paper clips in the image. Clever. Though, I probably buy them as temporary fun and use them as an office accessory rather than drinking a shot from it; slightly too kitchy for me; belongs to that area at Urban Outfitters.
