----- Just when they begin to disappoint you... -----

.... Montreal springs back with creative ideas to warm your heart back to loving the city more. Rue Mont-Royal is currently exhibiting comic book inspired look lighting, spewed along the street on their lamps. Design firm, Turn Me on, created this concept. As part of a city-wide contest, this concept won and each lamp features graphics from artists Astro and Jean-François Poliquin.

Came across it serendipitously, and smiled from ear to ear.

----- Holy Batman! -----

Hyper-realistic sculptures depicting ordinary intimate moments of human emotions and interaction. The genius and unbelievably dexterous human is named Ron Mueck.
WTF.

----- Kumi Yamashita -----

The New York based Japanese artist takes paper art (origami) to another level. Using the same size of paper each time, she adds bumps and manipulate flat surfaces to create shadows which are profiles of various people.

----- Optical Illusion -----

Photoshop it is not.

Felice Verini 'nine dancing triangles' at Chateau Chasse-Spleen, moulis en medoc in france. At one angle you will see the geometric shapes linked and combined but viewed at another you will see random disconnected shapes and lines covering the entire room of wine barrels. The artist created this on site. Can you imagine the strategy and planning, it's incredible.

----- Wallpaper's Made by Hand 2012 -----

Every year the design lifestyle magazine Wallpaper selects the August issue as the hand-made issue, either welcoming known designers and creators to contribute to the cover or like last year, invite readers to customize their own. I really like this year's lineup of designers.

I'm going through a design slump; this is really inspiring.
Check out more here and you will get to see videos of the designers' process. Amazing talent.

----- Doodlers Alert! -----

I fell into an addictive game. A good one too.

Now scribble away and don't blame me for your procrastination!

----- Happy Birthday Keith Haring! -----

One of my favorite artists/pop art, Keith Haring is celebrated by Google.

----- Embroidered Powder -----

Incredible. Speechless. At first, your mind thinks it's an embroidery of some kind that turns out to be snow drawings (carvings) by an artist of the name of Sonja Hinrichsen. Just incredible, really.

------ The Red Ball Project-----

I love enlarged art installation. Makes you stop, stare, and laugh. Makes you forget for a second that you are in a hurry to work, stressing about stress, or saves you from straining your neck from constantly starring down at your smart phones while on the move.

----- Ay Yi Yi Ai Wei Wei! -----

Ai Wei Wei is bringing his Sunflower Seeds to New York! The infamous Sunflower Seeds art installation began in London at the Tate's Modern, which regrettably makes me wished I began my Europe trip one year earlier because I missed this incredible art piece by Ai Wei Wei. He and 1600 Chinese hand-painted the one hundred million porcelain sunflower seeds displayed in the large space. The term, "You have to see it to believe it", stands true for this. The notion is to demonstrate the art of craftsmanship, mass consumption and the Chinese industry. Traditionally in those days, especially during my mom's childhood, families worked at home to construct and built things. Like my grandmother and mother would tell me, they would go out, search for work and bring them back home to finish while preparing dinner and taking care of the family: envelopes, paper bags, candy wraps, etc. It was a group effort. People can criticize how wasteful this project is financially and time wise but they can also be people who could never understand the impact of art.

AH BANKSY, WHY ARE YOU SUCH A GENIUS?! (Squint and you'll see)

"Banksy just unveiled a brand new sculpture called Cardinal Sin which is a 18-century stone bust of a priest with its face sawn off and replaced by blank "pixelated" bathroom tiles. It was created as a response to the child abuse scandal in the Catholic church and its subsequent cover-up."

Tyree Callahan, a Washington-based artist, modified a typewriter to type artwork, literally a painting machine or what it is called a Chromatic Typewriter. Amazing things human can do. Imagine if Bob Ross dedicated a show into using one of these, I think it would be hilarious. You pictured it didn't you?

----- Yellow Owl Shop -----

During the summer when I crazily flew into Toronto for a weekend to satisfy my inner Wolverine fantasy by waiting for the one-and-only Mr.Jackman to sign my PlayBill, I passed by a cute bookstore in the market and found a DIY book of printing like screen, lithograph, stamps, etching... called Little Owl Workshop Book. Love the handy tips and information on how to make your own printed cards, placement mats, canvas bags, birthday cards, etc.
