Gorgeous illustrations with animation. Great site Hermes. Couldn't find the name of the designer(s).

Loving LOVING these illustrations and concepts. Straightforward simplicity and colourful, gives an impact visually. Agency M&C Saatchi is responsible for these creations for Transport for London.

The idea is to get Londoners out and about in their own city without having to travel cross the globe to get a taste of the countryside, farm or food in China.

----- Screen Print Goodies -----

Crispin Finn is a duo of creatives who work solely in blue and red and white. Illustrations, prints, homewares are their repertoires. Love, love, love. There are so much screenprinting glory that makes me tear up.

----- Scott C. -----

Scott Campbell is quickly climbing up the list of my favorite illustrators. I love these little bits of watercolor drawings of film's greatest showdowns. Too adorable. I also like the Pee Wee Herman at the end of this showcase.  Check his site here.

----- The Windows of New York City -----

New York based graphic designer Jose Guizar created a series of illustrations, paying tribute to the idiosyncrasies of New York architecture in a form of their windows. I'm glad to know I am not the only weird child for loving windows. I really love windows. When I see a great one, I really get lost in their beauty especially the Parisian ones and large loft ones. Aside from the window styles, the colour combinations make a great partner-in-crime.

------ Goddamnit! -----

So the deadline for a Threadless submission literally slipped through my hand. Rushing to complete my work, and even though I could have submit it as it is, I took the risk to edit my design some more. I know Threadless gives at least 15 minutes of leeway before submission ends. I went over. Anyway, aside from my cramping hands, I'm not aching in sadness; this gives me more time to clean the design up. I'll just submit it here on my blog:

----- Dying of cutness! -----

Created by advertising agency McCann Melbourne: Dumb ways to Die.
*Dare you to not smile while watching it.*

Music produced by Ollie McGill; sung by Emily Lubitz can be downloaded on iTunes already.
It's created for Melbourne's Metro PSA for public safety. I think it's the one of the most fun and creative PSA. There's also the website to check out: http://dumbwaystodie.com/

----- Threadless Love Gap Kids -----

TAH DAH! Final design. Vote "Ring Around the Earth," to help it get printed on Threadless!

There was a 50 Million loto draw this week and I'm more anxious for this to win. The theme is Gap Kids. Drawing from my research instinct, since the target includes kids, the design needs to be simple and straightforward, funny and adorable. I decided immediately to not use any text, even though the design is open for the adult t-shirts, toddlers still won't be able to read (or want to).

I went through several ideas and scrapped a few that didn't hold well for the theme albeit still funny and cute. I went through nursery rhymes and  "Ring Around the Rosie" came up and an idea sparked! A space/solar system concept is gender neutral; kids can identify the characters and learn about it.

----- A Sneak Preview -----
Pssst. A preview to something awesome.

----- Owen Gildersleeve: Master of Paper -----

One word: WTF. Okay, that's technically three words but—shut up. Owen Gildersleeve takes the level of illustration and design up to the next level of craziness: paper cut illustrations. These are examples from his portfolio. Tired of 2D digital or hand drawn factor, the kid uses paper and intelligent planning to articulate his visual communication. If only I had a 1/4 of his talent.

Couple of months later... revisited.
Like? My usual saying: I'll let it marinate.

----- The Secret 7": The Weep -----

And I had a dream
About my old school
And she was there all pink and gold and glittering
I threw my arms around her legs
Came to weeping, Came to weeping

Then I heard your voice as clear as day,
And you told me I should concentrate,
It was all so strange,
And so surreal,
That a ghost should be so practical.

Only if for a night
And the only solution was to stand and fight,
And my body was bruised and
I was set alight,
But you came over me like some holy rite,
And although I was burning,
You're the only light
Only if for a night

If Only for One Night was the given song for the inspiration of the artwork. It's a story about Florence revisiting someone from the dead, in particular her grandma.
