So many people live within unhappy circumstances and yet will not take the initiative to change their situation because they are conditioned to a life of security, conformity, and conservatism, all of which may appear to give one peace of mind, but in reality nothing is more damaging to the adventurous spirit within a man than a secure future. The very basic core of a man’s living spirit is his passion for adventure. The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.

----- Great, I'm a Walking Stereotype -----

Tumblr: Check. Blogger: Check. Pinterest: Check. Kid Robot toys: Check. Overflowing bookshelf: Check. Graphic t-shirts: under construction.

Don't you hate when you read a book when the book acts as a mentor and critics you in a voice. That is happening from reading the page off of a recently purchased book, Popular Lies About Graphic Design. It's an excellent, self-motivating book for any creative but more of a hard hitting punch at graphic designers. Truths are told; honesty is shared. Although it hurts my self-esteem, it is a necessary one.

------ Muv Box -----

Our cities are regularly filled with so many new and undiscovered gems that we don't either have time or motivation to visit all of them and Muv Box's Resto Lobster Box was one of them in mine. Located slightly off the heart of the Old Montreal district serves lobster—obviously— from the unique, innovating design inspired by using cargo shipment boxes since 2009. It possesses environmentally friendly objectives: solar panels, recyclable and biodegradable materials, local produce.  The idea spawn during a visit to the Venice Biennale when founder, Daniel Noiseaux, saw the Push Button House sponsored by Illy Cafe (definitely check it out).

Imagine the limitless possibilities? Pop-up stores selling retail items, farmer's markets in the metropolitan, coffee shops, tourist information center, better looking port-a-potties—see it's infinite! I'd like one in my backyard as my studio; I would order the 20 feet one which gives 512 sqf of space!

I have a passion for design ideas that reuses obsolete objects and giving them a second life because there are so much more of them sitting on earth's soil, not even rotting away.

----- Visual Fun -----

I usually keep a folder on my desktop where I would save images that I come across on the internet that inspires me, make me laugh out loud, make me in awe, make me smirk. So there are some I haven't shared. I apologize for not sourcing the images, I sometimes forget to (or lazy to) jot down the name of the owner. Always give credit where credit is due.
enjoy

You know you're a designer when you know your favorite colour in pantone: mine is A3DAD5.

Isn't this clever? hehe

I'm obsessed with organization.

If you're good with details, by now you would have realized that is a glazed doughnut burger. If not, I apologize for clogging your arteries just now.

Brilliant, just brilliant.

I love street art.

----- Do we need to live in reality? -----

So we got Google Maps, Google Streetview; we got Skype; we got Facebook. This internet age is all the rage these days, and I can't blame the folks who are irrevocably attached to it like the 20 year old magnets on my fridge; they just don't let go or fall off. And I'm one of the folks too. I hate it and love it. I mean who else can tell you how to cook a chicken in a duck in a turkey while simultaneously helping you diagnose whether your recent skin rash had anything to do with it. I digress. The story here is: googleartproject.com.

"Explore museums from around the world, discover and view hundreds of artworks at incredible zoom levels, and even create and share your own collection of masterpieces."

Reality has become a lost friend; stranger is better. What is experience anymore? While the idea is unequivocally brilliant —spread the love of art— I can't help but feel we have pushed ourselves further away from experiencing real experience. Experience used to be an adventure, now it's just a click away.

----- Prints! Prints! Prints! -----

After looking and reading around about "Keep Calm and Carry On", I fortuitously found this site called Keep Calm Gallery, which coincidentally is also selling the posters, features all sorts of typographic posters, both old and new. I'm very fond of it because typography makes me giggle with glee. And these are definitely making me want to design some posters.
