Trying to design my own business card is like trying to design my personality, which essentially is what it is; comparable to someone out of the bloom asking you straight-up: how do you describe yourself; who are YOU? And you can never come up with a satisfying explanation or an impressive one on the spot. It's easy to make a business card for a client because you're not the one who is answering the questions. I just have to listen, understand and do. But for designers, this process obliges us to go down the route of self-reflection; inspecting every right and wrong turns we made in our lives. While also factoring in the importance of making the right aesthetic choice to impress our peers— least not forget, ultimately, leave a lasting impression for network and ego sake. Imagine all this on a standard size of 2" x 3.5" paper. It's a mind tangle. It explains why I haven't finished my business cards. I should leave it blank, with the only words written in 6 pt font, right justified, bottom corner: Who am I? Then call it art. No other information is provided. Not even a name or a number because you actually have to make the effort to memorize them as soon as I introduce myself after our handshake—hm, actually you know what...
